Urban Workshop

The Urban Workshop, located at 50 Lonsdale Street, occupies an area of Melbourne once known as ‘Little Lon’. The largest archaeological dig ever conducted in Victoria unearthed several thousand artefacts from in and around the lane once known as Little Leichardt Street. The development features a public space where the artefacts can be viewed inside glass display cabinets, accompanied by detailed labeling, information panels and images of the digging process. Sardine Design collaborated closely with artist Rosslynd Piggot, John Wardle Architects, Heritage Victoria, Multiplex and Clifton Coney Group to design and deliver a unique and memorable heritage scheme.
